Photo Requirements
Allow skipping photos
Staff can skip the photo step entirely.
Minimum additional photos
Extra detail photos required per item, beyond the main shot.
Background removal
Automatically remove background from hero photos. Requires rembg to be installed. Off by default.
Photo Requirements by Grade
Set how many photos and which extras are required per grade. "Min Photos" is the number of additional photos on top of the main photo. Where Stock image can replace photos is on (grade A by default), the catalog's stock image alone is enough; if it is not used, the grade needs at least that many photos in total (the main photo counts).
Camera Devices
Grading station
Hero and detail photos during grading.
Photo booth
Camera used in the photo booth flow.
Label Printer
Label printer
ZPL-compatible thermal printer (e.g. Zebra ZD410).
How labels get printed
From this computer: the label printer is plugged into the computer running RemnantOps (the desktop setup).
Through a print agent: RemnantOps runs somewhere else (the cloud) and a small program at each warehouse picks up waiting labels and prints them. Labels wait in line if the internet drops.

Location and bin settings
Brand-new units share one Zenventory listing
When on, a grade-A (100% new) unit is filed in Zenventory under its manufacturer SKU, so a second or third new unit of the same product adds quantity to that listing instead of making another. Anything less than new always gets its own listing (its label code), and so do manually entered items.
Default putaway bin
Where items go after grading, unless overridden.
Intake Flow
Grade condition notes
After picking a grade, show a notes/comment field before continuing. Off = grade tap goes straight to next step.
Quantity entry
Show a quantity field on the review screen. Each unit gets its own SKU and label. Off by default.
Grade Definitions
The description shown when each grade is assigned and on the review screen.
Item Categories
Categories available in the manual check-in form. "Other" is always included.
Scanner
Barcode scanner behavior
Match-only mode
Unknown barcodes show a warning instead of continuing.
Re-scanning a finished return
What happens at the grading PC when a manifest line that already has all its units processed is scanned again.
Min characters to auto-submit
Scanner only auto-advances when this many characters arrive at once. Default: 8.

Upload Manifest CSV
Upload a CSV or Excel export. Any column order works — the system auto-detects SKU, UPC, RMA, tracking, item name, qty, and grade columns. If some lines in the file are already on the books you will be asked what to do before anything is added.

Backups
Every night at 2:00 AM the server copies the database and all photos into this folder and keeps the number of daily copies set below. Point it at a cloud-synced folder (for example Google Drive) so a dead or stolen PC does not take the data with it.
Backup folder
Full path, e.g. G:\My Drive\RemnantOps Backups
Second copy folder
Optional. Each backup is also copied here, e.g. a Google Drive folder, so no single disk holds every copy.

Older database copies are removed automatically. Photo copies are always kept.
